Easter or Paschal as known in Greek language is a festival holiday for Christians commemorating the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. Easter period is one of the most celebrated and longest holidays in the world and most people utilise the four day holiday by travelling to various destinations.


Jinja is often known as the adventure capital of East Africa and this can be one of your top safari destinations while in Uganda for Easter holidays, there are several activities to engage in like white water rafting, kayaking on the Nile, Bungee jumping, boat cruise to the source of the Nile, biking, visit Bujagali falls horse riding and so much more. Gorilla trekking

The best place for trekking chimpanzees in Uganda is Kibale forest national park but you can also do chimpanzee trekking in Budongo forest in Murchison falls, Kyambura gorge in Queen or at Kalinzu forest. Chimpanzee trekking can be combined with wildlife viewing in Queen Elizabeth national park to make your Easter holiday memorable.

Visit Mount Elgon

Mount Elgon is the oldest extinct shield volcano found in the Eastern part of Uganda rising at 4321 meters above sea level boasting with one of the largest intact calderas in the world. You might not do the climbing to the peak during Easter but you can just hike to the three spectacular Sipi falls found on the mountain.
