Serengeti national park covers an area of approximately 30,000 Sq.km in the north of Tanzania, towards the southern border of Kenya, though 80% of it is situated in Tanzania. During the game drive, you may be lucky to spot great migration, a movement that involves about 1.5 million herbivores and thousands of predators fleeing drought from Serengeti to search of fresh water and grazing in Maasai Mara national park. Due to the fact that vast grasslands cover much of the park (more than a third), there are numerous savannah game which call it home throughout the year.

Ngorongoro crater features a Salt Lake at its center, and so animals find it a favorable place to stay and feed. Thus, this crater has become one of the most densely populated wildlife areas in the world!

Other than profusion of animals, the Ngorongoro is filled with rich culture and communities, including the Masai and Hadza people who live together in harmony with the wildlife that all call this place home. From the rim, look out over the pleasant crater and all its wonderful inhabitants.

Day 7: Transfer to Arusha & departure

On this last day after a leisurely breakfast at the lodge you can choose to either visit a Maasai community or go for a nature walk in the Ngorongoro forests. Ask to be guided by an armed ranger as you walk the lush forest and on a lucky day you might meet some herds of elephants and buffaloes, as well as other forest species like the duikers, and occasionally lions, leopards and more. After the experience, transfer back to Arusha town with a brief stop at Karatu and Mto wa Mbu market towns where you can mix and mingle shortly with the locals and do some souvenir shopping along the way.
