Detailed 2 Days Mount Karisimbi Climbing Tour Itinerary
Day 1: Hike to the base camp
Meet at the park headquarters in Kinigi in the morning at around 800hrs on this first day of your 2 Days Mount Karisimbi Hiking Safari.
After clearing and briefing from the park ranger, you will drive for 40 minutes to the place known as Kwa Mukecuru Parking. This is a starting point of your adventure.
After packing all required luggage, you start hiking at around 8:00 am with a park ranger guide, trackers, and porters (to be hired if you need one); all these are to ensure that your hiking experience is the most enjoyable.
You stop at different places along the way, enjoy packed lunch. Night accommodation will take place at a height of 3,500m above the sea level.
Day 2: Proceed with hike to the summit and descend
After an early breakfast at 5:00 am, continue hiking to the top of Karisimbi which is 4,507 m above sea level – making it the tallest volcano within the Virunga massif.
Take photos, soak up the incredible views of two of eight volcanoes and enjoy different species of plants (trees, flowers & shrubs).
After short relaxation at the summit, you descend to the campsite where you will have lunch.
Afterwards, trace your way back down the mountain while enjoying stillness of nature and the very best views of the park.
The driver guide will transfer you to the Kigali city/airport to catch up your next flight.
