The journey takes approximately 3 – 4 hours, therefore by 11am you’ll have arrived in the park. Check in through the northern Kachumbanyobo gate and continue to the ferry near Paraa headquarters.
Time allowing, you undertake a short game drive in the nearby game tracks so that by 1:00pm you’re back at Paraa jetty to catch up with an afternoon boat cruise.
The game drive in Murchison Falls National Park is the best way to explore Uganda’s Big 4/5 mammals, including lions, buffaloes, elephants, leopards, plus many other mammals like giraffes, spotted hyenas, Topis, bush bucks, waterbucks, Uganda Kobs and abundant bird-life.
The afternoon boat cruise departs from Paraa jetty and sets off at exactly 2:00pm; heading to bottom of the falls with incredible views of both Murchison and Uhuru falls.

Get off the boat and hike to top of the falls. The hike is not hectic, even the most inexperienced climbers can trek it until you get to the top of Murchison falls for a better, closer view.
While on top, feel the splash of the water as it forces its way through a 7m gorge to create a thunderous roar and a permanent rainbow that marks its central point. It is no wonder that this is the most powerful waterfalls in the world.
End this experience before dark and join your driver guide to transfer you out of the park and begin the journey back to Kampala for overnight stay or Entebbe airport for departure flight.
