Detailed Best of Uganda Adventure Safari Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival and Kampala city tour
On arrival for your 10 Days Best Uganda Adventure Safari, meet our company representative at Entebbe airport and drive to the lodge in Kampala for refreshment and breakfast; later continue for an excursion in Kampala City.
Kampala is marked with numerous places of interest, including African craft village, the national museum, Uganda Martyrs Shrine Namugongo, The Buganda king’s palace, Bahai temple, among other places.
Have lunch at one of Kampala’s finest restaurant and later transfer to your overnight hotel.
Day 2: Kampala – Murchison Falls National Park
After breakfast on this second day of your 10 Days Best Uganda Adventure Safari, leave Kampala to Murchison Falls NP.
The journey takes around 5 hours from Kampala covering approximately 305km. Enter through Kichumbanyobo gate past Masindi town, driving through Budongo forest.
Visit the top of the falls and then continue to lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 3: Morning game drive and launch cruise
Enjoy early morning breakfast and then go for a game drive to observe various animal and bird species. Common sightings include elephants, giraffes, lions, Buffaloes, Uganda Kobs and others.
In the afternoon enjoy a launch cruise to the national park’s major tourist attraction, the unique Murchison Falls along the Victoria Nile with its banks teeming with hippos and huge crocodiles bathing in the sandbanks, as well as different bird species.
Day 4: Transfer from Murchison to Kibale Forest National Park
Have breakfast and then drive to Kibale Forest NP which is a full day drive via the Albertine rift and pleasant views of the vast plantations. Have lunch en-route. Dinner and overnight at lodge.
Day 5: Chimpanzee trekking in Kibale Forest & Transfer to Queen Elizabeth NP
After breakfast on day five of your 10 Days Best Uganda Adventure Safari, go for chimpanzee trekking in Kibale Forest National Park which is one of the best safari destinations for this experience in Uganda.
Kibale Forest National Park has one of the most stunning and bio diverse tropical forest not only in Uganda, but also the entire Africa.
The park is a place to sight a number of forest species especially primates coupled with chimpanzees, monkeys, baboons and more primates.
Spend a full hour with these interesting primates, after descend back to the starting point, join the driver guide and transfer back to the lodge for lunch.
Leave Kibale forest and drive to Queen Elizabeth national park through the Crater Lake region and Fort portal town, arriving in the evening for dinner and overnight.
Day 6: Game drive and launch cruise
Early morning game drive through the stunning Kasenyi – a game rich sector in Queen Elizabeth NP, filled with animals like the Uganda Kobs, lions, elephants, buffaloes, leopards among others.
Move back to the lodge for late breakfast and in the afternoon, go for launch cruise on Kazinga Channel to observe various water animals like Hippos and huge crocodiles and various water birds. Dinner and overnight.
Day 7: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Enjoy breakfast and drive to Bwindi Forest National Park with a stopover in Ishasha sector for a chance to view climbing lions. Lunch en-route at Savannah resort. Continue to Bwindi arriving in the evening, check in, dinner and overnight stay.
Day 8: Gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest
Early morning breakfast and move to the park headquarters for briefing by the ranger guide and later move into the forest to start the Uganda gorilla trekking activity until you encounter a family of mountain gorillas.
The trek takes 2 to 8 hours depending on the movement of gorillas. On finding them, spend one hour with these gentle giants and later return and drive back to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 9: Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park, and boat ride
Early morning breakfast and drive to Lake Mburo NP, arrive in time for lunch. Enjoy lunch at the lodge and later head for an afternoon boat ride to observe a number of birds and enjoy the experience. Return for dinner and overnight.
Day 10: Game drive and travel to Kampala
Enjoy early morning game drive in the park which is home to stunning herds of Impala, as well as the rare Eland (world’s largest antelope), Topis, Klipspringer, buffaloes, giraffes and more animals.
Move back to the lodge for late breakfast and lunch, then transfer back to Kampala with a stopover at the equator for photography and the geographical experiment. Continue to Kampala arriving in the evening.
