Detailed Uganda Adrenaline Tour Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival at Entebbe International Airport

Upon your arrival for this 18 Days Discover Uganda Safari, our professional driver guide will warmly welcome you to the pearl of Africa.

He will brief you about all the activities you will be doing in these days before driving to your hotel in Kampala while viewing eye catching sites of Lake Victoria and ancient buildings.

Upon arriving at the hotel, you will have lunch, then head for a simple city tour that will take you to the Uganda museum, Gadhafi national mosque and Nakasero Market to see locals trade in different agricultural and organic fruits.

Head back to the hotel for refreshment, dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Transfer to Ngamba Island Chimpanzee Sanctuary

After breakfast at your hotel on this day of your 18 Days Discover Uganda Safari, you will be transferred to the dock in Entebbe for a boat ride to Ngamba Island for unforgettable half day excursion experience, the boat will only take 45minutes to cross to Ngamba island.

While in Ngamba, you will see numerous orphaned Chimpanzees that have been rescued and are being conserved.

This chimpanzee sanctuary is home to roughly 49 orphaned chimpanzees; watch the chimpanzees as they feed from the Visitors platform is rewarding.

Thereafter, get back to the boat and return to Kampala for dinner and overnight as you wait for the next day’s program.

Day 3: Depart for Lake Mburo national park from Kampala

Start your day with an early morning breakfast before embarking on a 3-4-hour journey to Lake Mburo National Park.

A stopover at the equator, and have some lunch before proceeding to the park for a relaxed evening, check-in to your lodge and after have some nature walk before returning for dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Game drive and boat cruise in Lake Mburo National Park

After that lovely cup of coffee early morning, you will go for game drive and search for early morning risers and night hunters who are coming back to rest from the night of hard work and successful hunt or failure; you will have a chance of citing animals such as Zebras, Buffaloes, elands and others.

Depart to the lodge for refreshments, lunch and in the afternoon head for a boat ride on Lake Mburo which will give you a chance of spotting some aquatic animals such as the Crocodiles and Hippos.

It is departure time; so, be ready with all your belongings such as cameras and head to your lodge for Dinner and overnight.

Day 5: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest and nature walk

After an early morning cup of coffee on this day of your 18 Days Discover Uganda Safari, you will check-out of the lodge and head for yet a very interesting destination, Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.

This is home to half of the surviving mountain gorillas in the whole world.

Drive through a smooth road while feeding your eyes with amazing hills and rocks in all sides of the road, not forgetting the green vegetation.

En-route, you will have lunch before arriving at your lodge late in the evening for dinner and overnight as you wait for your Gorilla trekking exercise the next day.

Day 6: Gorilla Trekking and Cultural Encounter in Bwindi Impenetrable forest

After breakfast on the 6th day of your 18 Days Discover Uganda Safari, pick your packed lunch / snacks, good camera, hiking boots, long sleeved shirt and head to the sector in which you are going to carry out an unforgettable gorilla trekking Uganda experience.

There will be a briefing that commences at 8:00am to 8:30am with the park rangers taking you through the do’s and don’ts of trekking these magnificent primates in the jungle of Bwindi.

The rangers will thereafter accompany you to the jungle to begin the quest of these primates traversing the thick bushes, and hills while enjoying the sweet melodies from primates and birds that co-exist within this destination.

This whole tracking adventure may last for approximately 1-7 hours depending on the distance and how far the Gorillas have moved.

One hour is given to you to relax and observe the unique behaviors of the silverbacks and the mother gorillas.

Afterwards in the afternoon, you will go and have an encounter with the Batwa community people who have lived majority of their lives as hunters and gatherers.

They will take you through incredible stories and memories before making some cultural performances and dances.  

Day 7: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park from Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

After an early morning cup of coffee on this 7th day of your 18 Days Discover Uganda Safari, you will check out of the lodge and drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park via the Ishasha sector.

While in this sector; you stand a chance of sighting the tree climbing lions resting up of the tree branches.

Thereafter, have lunch in this same sector and proceed with the journey to your lodge for yet another interesting game drive and boat cruise awaiting the following day. Have dinner and overnight.

Day 8: Enjoy game drive and Boat Cruise in Queen Elizabeth National Park

Enjoy your first meal of the day, pick your camera, binoculars and proper clothing ready for the day’s activities, you will set out for the game drive in search for early morning hunters and night hunters in the Kasenyi area.

This park has diverse Eco-system of grassy plains, rivers, crater lakes, forests, swamps and lakes that act as home to several gem that visitors have chance of spotting such as lions, leopards, forest hogs, buffaloes, elephants, waterbuck, Uganda Kobs, antelopes and others.

After lunch, head for a 3-hour launch cruise along the Kazinga Channel and into Lake Edward, experience that gives you a chance of drawing near to the highest concentration of hippos, crocodiles and other animals drinking at the water’s edge.

After all is done, enjoy some selfies as you head back to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 9: Drive to Semuliki Valley National Park

Upon rising up early in the morning, have breakfast, thereafter, pack your belongings and check-out of the lodge for yet another a mazing 4-hour drive to Semuliki National Park while enjoying the scenic views of the rolling slopes of mount Rwenzori.

Reach the Park headquarters where you will register and have relaxation moments till night.

Go for a night game drive that ends at 11:00pm and gives you a chance of spotting the night hunters take to the field such as the slender mongoose, serval cats, diminutive genet and others.

Afterwards, have dinner and overnight in your lodge or campsite.

Day 10: Visit Sempaya hot springs and nature walk in Semuliki Valley National Park

After early morning breakfast on the 10th day of your 18 Days Discover Uganda Safari, trek to the Sempaya hot springs, it has both female and male hot springs that are magical in one way or the other, in fact, you will make a sample experiment by putting an egg in the female hot springs to boil till it becomes ready to eat.

Upon finishing, take some photos for memory purposes, lunch and proceed for nature walk in the afternoon visiting the nearby villages as well as taking one birding exercise. Later in the evening, get back to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 11: Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park

Early morning on this day of your 18 Days Discover Uganda Safari, wake up to a very hefty breakfast, checkout of the lodge and drive to Kibale forest national park on a journey that takes approximately 34km.

You will have a stopover for lunch in Fort portal before proceeding with your trip to a lodge / camp near Kibale Forest National Park.

This tropical forest is home to almost 13 primate species which include the red colobus and L’Hoest’s monkey, chimpanzees, baboons and many more.

Day 12: Chimpanzee trekking and visiting Bigodi swamp in Kibale forest

After breakfast on this day of your 18 Days Discover Uganda Safari, you will set out for Uganda chimpanzee trekking encounter in the jungle of Kibale forest.

The exercise begins from Kanyanchu ranger station with a briefing early in the morning before the rangers escort you to forest.

While exploring the forest, expect to encounter primate species such as, chimpanzees, monkeys, baboons and other animals like the forest elephants, buffaloes, leopards, bush pig and duiker, not ignoring the colorful variety of butterflies.

After this adventure is done, head back to the lodge for lunch, then go for a nature walk in the Bigodi swamp area as you look out for water loving bird species and some of the primates you missed out in the forest.

Day 13: Transfer from Kibale Forest to Murchison Falls National Park

Wakeup to an early morning breakfast, and check out of the lodge, driving for approximately 7 hours to Murchison Falls National Park in Masindi district.

You will enjoy the beautiful views of vegetation, Rice and banana plantations and the magnificent rolling landscape marked with Albertine rift escarpments.

This is the oldest and largest park in Uganda with its main attraction being the thundering waterfalls, and wildlife in the Northern area of the park.

The driver guide will stop with you for some lunch in Hoima before heading to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 14: Game drive and Boat Cruise in Murchison falls NP

After breakfast on this 14th day of your 18 Days Discover Uganda Safari, pick your camera, binoculars, packed lunch and any other important tool before you head-out for unforgettable game drive to the Northern side of River Nile.

This activity takes approximately 3-5 hours with chances of sighting different wildlife species such as elephants, Rothschild giraffes, buffaloes, lions, Hartebeest, Uganda Kobs, Oribis and waterbucks.

Upon finishing your game drive, have picnic lunch before heading for launch cruise that commences at 2:00pm for 3 hours to the bottom of the falls with an exciting panoramic view of the mighty thundering Murchison falls.

Take photos as you watch some of the aquatic animals enjoying their home. Afterwards, head back to your lodge for some relaxation and overnight.

Day 15: Transfer to Mount Elgon from Murchison falls

After a very tasty breakfast, check-out of the lodge and drive to eastern part of Uganda; to Sipi falls situated beneath Mount Elgon National park.

This journey is long, so the driver guide will depart with you early through a very smooth road while viewing Karuma falls along Gulu highway and having a stopover in Jinja town for some lunch.

Continue with your drive through to the foothills of Mount Elgon for great views and community experience.

Day 16: Visit the Sipi falls and Community encounters

After an early morning cup of coffee, set off to hike the steep slopes of Mount Elgon national park with great chances of spotting different wildlife species such as over 350 bird species recorded, primates and many more.

Also visit the Sipi falls with its amazing look and the three thundering waterfalls, there are also other features to sight such as the banana plantations, coffee farms and many more. A tasty dinner and overnight at the lodge.

Day 17: Transfer from Sipi Falls to source of R. Nile in Jinja

After breakfast on this 17th day of your 18 Days Discover Uganda Safari, have a 4-5 hours’ drive to the source of the Nile in Jinja while enjoying the beautiful views of sugarcane plantations and rice fields along the way.

On arrival, you will check-in to your lodge, have lunch and head to the source of the Nile for exploration.

You will get to a boat that will take you to that particular point where there source of the Nile begins its 3 months’ journey to the Mediterranean Sea.

In addition to that, it is important to know that this is where Mahatma Gandhi’s ash was poured in accordance to his wish. When all is done, return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 18: Optional Bungee Jumping & Departure

This is the last day of your 18 Days Discover Uganda Safari. So depending on your flight time, you will wake-up for your first meal of the day, check-out of the Hotel and head out to Entebbe international airport for your flight via Mabira Forest.

You can carry out an optional bungee jumping activity if you want.
