Detailed 2 Days Murchison Falls National Park Safari Itinerary
Day 1: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park
6:00am pick up from your Kampala hotel or from Entebbe international airport depending on your schedule to start off your 2 Days Murchison Falls Wildlife Safari.
Drive out of Kampala heading to north-west wards through conical hills of Nakasongola and plains of Luweero district. Feel free to buy for yourself a pineapple or bananas from organic gardens of Luwero; it is a way of supporting locals vending on the road side.
The journey takes approximately 4 hours, checking into the park through Kachumbanyobo gate at around noon, drive through Budongo forest with chances of meeting olive baboons playing on the road.
Stop at Red Chili Rest Camp for an early lunch as you wait for the 2:00pm boat trip. Start the cruise which goes upstream to bottom of the falls where the Nile squeezes through a seven-meter gorge to create what is arguably the most powerful falls on the planet.
Hike to view the falls from the top through a well maintained trail that soon brings you closer to the vibrant and roaring Murchison falls. Enjoy the splash of water spraying all over the place and a rainbow that is created as a result offers magical photo scenery.
Your driver guide will come to pick you up driving through the woodland sector of the park, back to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 2: Early game drive and return to Kampala / Entebbe Airport
Early breakfast and begin your game safari at dawn to be able to encounter the elusive resident cats and early risers.
The game safari begins at 6:30am until sunrise when Murchison’s Savannah plains are filled with animals, ranging from big herds of buffaloes, elephants, towering giraffes, prides of lions, leopards and numerous bird species including both residents and migrant birds.
Return from the game drive as early as possible to transfer back to Kampala. Check out from the lodge and exit the park through Tangi or Kachumbanyobo gates depending on the lodge you stay at.
Arrive in Kampala or Entebbe airport early evening, refresh and check in at the airport for your departure flight.
