Detailed Mountain Gorillas & Golden Monkey Trekking Itinerary
Day 1: Optional City tour & Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Depending on your time of arrival for this 3 Days Bwindi Gorilla Trek & Rwanda Golden Monkeys Safari, you shall be picked from the airport or your hotel in Kigali at 8:00am and immediately go for a city tour visiting Kimironko market, Belgian monument, Kigali genocide memorial center, presidential palace museum, and so much more.
Have lunch and transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park through Katuna boarder arriving in the evening. Dinner and overnight at your lodge.
Day 2: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi & cross back to Rwanda (Musanze sector)
After early breakfast at 7:00am and transfer to ranger station with your packed lunch and bottled drinking water for pre-trek briefing that begins at 7:30am and lasts for 30 minutes to 1 hours’ time.
When done with briefing, you will start your Uganda gorilla trekking journey accompanied by the ranger guides in search of the mountain gorillas; this takes 2 to 8 hours depending on the movement of the gorillas.
After trekking, enjoy your lunch packs, either from the jungles or at the starting point and later join your guide who will immediately transfer you Rwanda (Parc National des Volcans) through Cyanika boarder in Kisoro. Arrive in Musanze sector in the evening and check in at the lodge.
Day 3: Golden Monkey Trekking in Volcanoes National Park & Transfer to Kigali City
Take an early morning breakfast and leave the lodge to the park headquarters for briefing before the actual trekking begins. The process is the same as Gorilla trekking but this lasts for only 3 to 5 hours.
Number of visitors is restricted and only one hour is given to the trekkers upon meeting a troop of these endangered primates.
Return to the lodge to freshen up, lunch and transfer back to Kigali. Depending on your time of departure, go for craft shopping or take another last city tour before you proceed to the airport for an onward flight to mark the end of your tour.
