3 Days Uganda Gorilla Trekking from Kigali

3 Days Uganda Gorilla Trekking from Kigali – Do you wonder whether you can encounter mountain gorillas with a limited schedule? When probably traveling on a budget yet hoping to spend some time with the mountain gorillas of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park? These 3 days Bwindi Gorilla safari begins and ends within Kigali, Rwanda and takes a shorter time than if you had started from Kampala/Entebbe (Uganda).

The best option, therefore, is to arrive at Kigali International Airport then drive to Bwindi, the journey lasts only 4 hours as opposed to 8 hours to travel from Entebbe airport. This Uganda group safari enables you to visit the famed home of majority of the Mountain gorillas (over 400 believed to be in the Wild while the rest and distributed across three other National Parks in Virunga region).

Day 1: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Upon arrival, our driver-guide will meet and pick you from Kigali International Airport, go for a city tour where you will visit some of the Genocide Memorial sites as well as local Craft markets, fruit markets and have lunch before proceeding, while feeding your eyes with the scenic views of the rolling hills of Rwanda, and finally to the home of half of the remaining mountain Gorillas, Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.

Drive through the Katuna boarder post, a journey that will roughly take 4-5 hours. During a transfer to the Park, the jaw-dropping views of the beautiful Kigezi (also dubbed Switzerland of Africa) will fill your soul with endless memories. Check-in to the Lodge for, dinner and overnight

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking Bwindi

After early morning breakfast on this second day of 3 Days Uganda Gorilla Trekking from Kigali, you will head to the Parks’ Headquarters for pre-tracking briefing about the dos’ and don’ts of Uganda gorilla trekking and encountering the critically endangered mountain gorillas by the Park rangers. After that, the rangers will guide you to the jungles to encounter one of the habituated gorilla families. With a walking stick, backpack (containing drinking water, non-flash camera, binoculars, snacks/or packed lunch), you will be dropped at the starting point for the adventure then hike through the dense forest searching for these primates as well as enjoying the sweet melodies of the birds in the tree branches.

All this exercise might take roughly 2-8 hours depending on how far the gorillas have gone, furthermore, one hour will be given to you to interact with this human relative that contains up to 98% of human DNA, studying their behaviors, among others. It should be noted that the activity is strenuous and requires participants to be physically fit, however, the magical moment of meeting face to face with the giant Apes will make you forget whatever challenges you went through, take photographs and videos before returning to the Lodge for lunch and relaxation.

The afternoon will be for community/village tours to spend some quality time with the local communities living around Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. You will meet the oldest culture on the planet earth; the Batwa pygmies who have lived a life of wandering and gathering in the forests.  While here, you will be entertained with some of the traditional songs and dances and learn about their lifestyles.

Day 3: Return to Kigali

After a heavy breakfast on this last day of your 3 Days Uganda Gorilla Trekking from Kigali, you will check-out and transfer to Kigali City where you will choose to be driven to a hotel or the Airport for your scheduled flight back home.
