Detailed Bwindi Mountain Gorillas & Mgahinga Golden Monkey Trekking Safari Itinerary
Day 1: Kigali City tour & Transfer to Bwindi impenetrable forest
On this first day of your 3 Days Uganda Gorillas & Golden Monkeys from Kigali tour, you shall be picked from the airport or your hotel in Kigali at 8:30am and go for a city tour visiting Kimironko market, the genocide memorial site in Gisozi, craft market, and so much more.
Return to the hotel for lunch and transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park, passing through Katuna boarder. Reach Ruhija sector in the evening for check in and dinner.
Day 2: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi & Transfer to Mgahinga Gorilla NP
Wake up and warm breakfast at 6:30am and drive to the sector’s ranger station with your packed lunch and bottled drinking water for briefing by the park ranger guides at 7:30am.
When done with briefing, you will start your Uganda gorilla trekking journey accompanied by the ranger guides in search of the mountain gorillas.
This activity takes 2 to 8 hours depending on the movement of the gorillas and overall speed of trekkers. After trekking, you will enjoy your picnic lunch and proceed on the drive to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park.
It is located in Kisoro district, about 1:30minutes’ drive from Ruhija region traversing beautiful Kigezi highlands and the lush Echuya forest.
Day 3: Golden Monkey Trekking & departure from Kigali
Have an early morning on this third day of your 3 Days Uganda Gorillas & Golden Monkeys from Kigali tour, breakfast and drive back to the park headquarters for briefing and Golden Monkey trekking.
The process is the same as Gorilla trekking but lasts only 3 to 5 hours and return to the lodge to freshen up and transfer back to Kigali and proceed to the airport for your onward flight.
