Detailed Ishasha Tree Climbing Lions & Chimp Trekking Safari

Day 1: Kampala to Queen Elizabeth National Park

After breakfast in Kampala or Entebbe on this day of your 4 Days Queen Elizabeth Wildlife Tour, commence your vacation to Queen Elizabeth National Park; a 1978sq.km conservation area and premier park in south western Uganda.

Have a stopover at the Uganda Equator for photo shoot and proceed to Mbarara town where you will have lunch before continuing to Queen Elizabeth National Park.

As you get into the park, you will be able to see the jagged slopes of Rwenzori Mountains, shimmering crater lakes, the rift valley escarpments and spot some animals on the roadside.

Continue with an evening game drive in the park and see numerous counts of elephants, buffaloes, Kobs, bushbucks, waterbucks, warthogs and so much more.

Day 2: Chimpanzee trekking experience and boat cruise in the afternoon

Have a cup of African tea in the morning and take a chimp trekking safari to Kyambura Gorge. This underground forest is home to a few habituated troops of chimps that are interesting to meet.

As they jump from one tree to the other, photography may be hard but so pleasant to the eyes. As you trek through Kyambura gorge, you may also meet a few other primates including olive baboons, vervet monkeys, bush babies and numerous counts of birds.

After the experience, head to Katunguru trading centre where there are different ethnic groups with very much related languages for cultural performances.

Return to your lodge for refreshments and lunch as you prepare for an additional boat cruise along Kazinga Channel. While on this leisurely cruise, spot buffaloes close to the water, scores of hippos, and swarms of pied kingfishers and Pelicans among others.

Head back to your accommodation for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3: Game Drive and Tracking the climbing lions in Ishasha sector

Wake up early on this day of your 4 Days Queen Elizabeth Wildlife Tour, at 6:30am to catch up with the early risers and nocturnal species and when the predators are returning to their hideouts.

You could possibly see elephants, lions, spotted hyenas, leopards and hippos grazing. Return to the lodge for breakfast and then proceed to Ishasha sector in the south for more game safaris.

Ishasha sector is a renowned home for the uncommon climbing lions; immediately upon arrival you will proceed on a game drive to view the sector’s residents which include elephants, Topis, waterbucks, Buffaloes, and more animals.

However, the highlights of the sector include tree climbing lions and great scenery marked with the meandering Ntungwe River.

Day 4: Check out and Transfer to Kampala / Entebbe airport

Depart from Ishasha via Kasese-Fort Portal Road. Arrive in Kampala in the evening where you will have a wonderful dinner and overnight stay as you reflect on the concluded exciting trip or immediately proceed to the airport for your departure flight to mark the end of your 4 Days Uganda Tree Climbing Lions & Chimp Trekking Safari.
