This 4 Days Murchison Falls Wildlife & Kibale Chimpanzee Safari is an all primates and game viewing tour that begins and ends in Kampala / Entebbe airport.

Detailed Wildlife & Kibale Chimpanzee Safari Itinerary

Day 1: Pick up from Kampala to Murchison Falls National Park

On this day of your 4 Days Uganda Chimpanzee Trek & Wildlife Safari, Early morning pick up from the hotel in Kampala and drive to Murchison Falls National Park, located 305km north of Kampala.

An optional stop may be made in Nakitoma, Nakasongola district for an epic Rhino trekking experience in Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary.

Continue with a lunch stop in Masindi town or Kabalega dinners. After continue  to Murchison falls, visit the top of falls to observe the river Nile burst in an extraordinary convulsion through a narrow crevice and then plunges 40 meters in one breathtaking leap forming what is known to be the world’s strongest waterfalls by its volume.

Take pictures, and depart to your lodge for check in and night game drive (optional).

Day 2: Murchison falls National Park: Game drive and launch cruise

Begin this 2nd day of your 4 Days Uganda Chimpanzee Trek & Wildlife Safari with an early morning game drive in the northern bank of the Nile River to observe the animals that are unique to the African Savannah like elephants, giraffes and others including bird species.

After lunch, take a launch cruise upstream to the falls to observe huge crocodiles, buffaloes, elephant, hippos and a variety of water birds and on a lucky day you may encounter the Shoe Bill stork.

The boat trip takes 3 – 4 hours, after which you will drive to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Drive from Murchison Falls to Kibale Forest National Park

After breakfast on this 3rd day of your 4 Days Uganda Chimpanzee Trek & Wildlife Safari, transfer to Fort Portal – the home of Kibale Forest National Park, traveling on the road that overlooks the Albertine Rift Valley offering great sightseeing opportunities, coupled with expansive tea plantations, bustling towns, beautiful homesteads and great flora.

Arrive in Kibale forest in the evening, check in and night rest as you prepare for the next day’s epic adventure.

Day 4: Chimpanzee Trekking & Transfer to Kampala

After breakfast on this last day of your 4 Days Uganda Chimpanzee Trek & Wildlife Safari, be briefed about the entire experience of trekking chimpanzees, including rules and regulations and what to expect.

Trekking chimpanzees takes 2 to 8 hours, a very interesting experience because it involves viewing the chimps the way they feed, respond to humans, and climb from one tree to another.

Other than chimps, Kibale Forest is home to over 13 primates, which make it a primate capital of East Africa, plus other mammal species.

These include among others; the Blue Monkeys, Patas Monkeys, Mongoose, Bush pigs, baboons, Otters, Bush bucks and abundant bird life as well as flora.

Return to the lodge for lunch and immediately drive back to Entebbe airport for your departure flight or a night stay in Kampala.
